An essential event for every new building: the ground-breaking ceremony. Representatives from Mogatec, STIHL, the Erzgebirge Economic Development Agency and the Drebach community gathered to celebrate this tradition together. Local press representatives were also present and reported on the following day.

We have reached our limits in terms of sensible use of space due to the growth of recent years and the fundamentally positive future prospects for this site and are delighted to celebrate the achievement of this milestone at the Drebach site and to continue to develop Mogatec into an important development and industrialization partner within the STIHL Group. STIHL is investing around 4.1 million euros in the new building and is committed to the Drebach site. It is the largest single investment to date in the history of Mogatec.

The new building will extend over three floors and is expected to be completed by the beginning of 2026. Built using sustainable timber frame construction, a green roof, a photovoltaic system and a heat pump will ensure very low external energy requirements. Teams from the Technology & Development and Purchasing departments will work in the new space. In addition to a workshop and storage rooms, a recess area with an adjoining outdoor area is also planned for the basement.

The preliminary infrastructural construction work is currently underway and the excavation pit will be lifted starting around June. We would like to apologize in advance to local residents for any inconvenience caused during the construction phase.
