Data privacy

Welcome to the website of Mogatec GmbH. We are pleased to see that you want to know more about data privacy. Protecting your data is very important to us. If you read on, we will tell you what data we record from your visit and how we use it. All the data we receive from you digitally is used in compliance with the applicable laws on data protection. The general purpose of our website is to keep our customers and market partners informed.

It is perfectly possible to look at our website without leaving any personal data. If we do ask for your personal data (such as name, address or e-mail address) anywhere on our site, you will provide it by choice. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.

We should remind you that when you send data over the Internet (e.g. e-mail communications), it might be exposed to flawed security. Your data cannot be fully shielded from third-party access.

Contact form and e-mail

If you want to send us an enquiry by e-mail or on the contact form, we will use the data you share to process your question and carry out any contract. Depending on the nature of your enquiry, the data you provide will be allocated to a specialist department within our company.

Once your enquiry has been fully dealt with, your personal data will be deleted or, if we enter into a contract, stored and then deleted later, once the data retention periods required by tax and commercial law have expired.

For additional protection from malware, we use Sandstorm, a cloud-based solution from Sophos Ltd, The Pentagon, Abingdon Science Park, Abingdon OX14 3YP in the United Kingdom. If you contact us by e-mail, it can happen that your message is blocked by our firewall. If that occurs, a copy of this e‑mail is redirected to Sandstorm and opened by Sophos in a secure Sandbox environment. This secure environment is in a data centre within the European Union; the data centre is operated by Amazon Web Services, Inc., 410 Terry Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98109-5210, USA.

If your sender address already features on our white list and there is no dangerous content in your e‑mail, your message will be released to us.

Depending how Sandstorm categorises your message, the retention periods are as follows:

Data category

Retention period

Files sent to Sandbox and rated harmless following analysis

Up to 30 days

Files sent to Sandbox and rated malicious following analysis

Unlimited period while the malicious files are still needed for legitimate purposes of malware detection and defence.

You can read more about how Sandstorm works here: https://www.sophos.com/en-us/lp/sandstorm.aspx. Sophos has published its own data privacy information about Sandstorm here: https://www.sophos.com/en-us/legal/product-privacy-information.aspx.

Your rights

You have the right to information without charge about the personal data we have stored about you. If appropriate, you also have the right to correct that data, to restrict how it is processed or shared, or to have it deleted.

If you have any questions about how your personal data is collected, processed or used, if you want information or to request a correction, block or deletion, or if you wish to withdraw your consent or object to a specific use of your data, please contact the designated staff directly.

You also have the right to file a complaint with the public regulator in Saxony.

Right of objection

Insofar as, having weighed up the interests of all parties, we process personal data as described above in order to safeguard our justified interests where these prevail, you can object to such data processing with future effect.

Once you have exercised your right to object, we will no longer process your personal data for these purposes unless we are able to demonstrate imperative and legitimate reasons for doing so which override your own interests, rights and liberties.

Please note that we will continue to process or store your data if we require such data in order to enforce, exercise or defend a legal claim.
